ANZAC DAY
Today here in Australia and also some other countries, we celebrate ANZAC Day. Both my parents are ex Army so they will be marching today to represent all those who can march no longer. We will be there to watch and I'll be very proud.

How interesting ... over here today is one of the most important days for the nation too. Freedom day for when the dictatureship ended in 1974.

I love that you went in and watched the march. I had a great uncle who fought in WWII and we used to go in and watch him march as kids. I hope when my girls are older that we will take them to the local dawn service. Which is kind of ironic because now they are up at dawn, but when they are older, I'm sure we will be dragging them out....

You lucky girl, you must be so proud to have those.
We had some in our family too. God knows what happened to them, they went to the wrong person, I suspect.
Nevermind.

In Canada, we have "Remembrance Day" on November 11th. It is a sort of quiet, solemn and wistful day I think.
