yep, more cards

I did these ages ago...months infact. I almost forgot all about them, until yesterday. Each card is a print of original collages comprised of old papers and  portions of a letter I kept from my Pa (other grandfather not the one below). Share a laugh. Share a treat. Share the joy. Share the magic.

They'll be in my Etsy shop ASAP. Now there is only one other card design I'll release for the holiday season this year. I'll keep you posted.

90 and not out

90 and not out is a term used in the game of cricket. This weekend we finished a week's worth of celebrations with a surprise 90th birthday for my grandfather. I've drunk too much champagne and eaten too many party plates of food this week. Now with the festive season around the corner, I am going to try and be good.
Here is a moment captured. And he sits proudly with his medal pinned to his chest. A Knight of France.

celebrations

This week, my grandfather turns 90, the day before that my father turns 62 and the day before that my son turns a big 5! It is a week full of parties..and all at my house. So in between all the organising, I'll pop in to say hello.
Mr A celebrated with friends on the weekend.  They made fruit sticks, drove pretend racing cars around the house to find some treasure, tried to bash open a pinata, and all left with succulents for party bags. I managed to keep the sugar content down to a reasonable level, and it wasn't missed at all. Wow, where did my baby go?

it has started

I've already had a few shops and people ask me if I am selling Christmas cards this year. I am, so I guess they might need them soon..like now! So I'm showing you a few of them. These will be available in the Etsy shop and I will be adding more soon.

If I could SQUEEZE a few more hours into my week..

I would make something like this. Images taken from lin-net. The 'girly girl' in me loves linen and simple, modern crochet.

don't you hate it when....

Saturday I spent most of it quilting. Quilting, quilting, quilting, quilting. Keep on sewing, don't give up. quilt. quilt quilt. Nearly finsihed. Almost there. In a minute kids. quilting quilting. last row to quilt. Agghh, now I quite like this. Just the binding to do.

Flip it over for one last check.

BUGGER.

Unpicking, unpicking, unpicking. unpicking!

trading

Recently the very talented Dawn from Dawbis asked if I would like to trade with her. I almost jumped out of my skin. Yesterday she received my parcel, so I thought I would leave this space for the weekend with an image of what I sent. Acrylic on Canvas. There is more detail on the bottom of the canvas.
More can be seen here and here.

swaps and buys

I recently suggested a swap with a newish blogger from Sydney, Dudley Redhead. I can't remember how I discovered her, but I am glad I did. She seems to have a great sense of humour and makes a fantastic range of things from zines to softies.
This is what I received on the left. I forgot to take a photo of my package, but did take a pic of this image on the right which was apart of it. Mustard Rock.

Also I have been meaning to let you know about this person from Hollabee.  Also newish to Australia, she currently has this fantastic fabric for sale. I love the shapes and colours.

And finally my favourite bag from another Australian designer, Birdtextile.
