green fresh summer weekend
we have the coldest pool. It really is like swimming in ice. The kids often come out with blue lips and teeth chattering. Finally this summer we have had 3 continuous days of hot, sunny weather and there is plenty more to come.
so we are enjoying the weekend splashing around, even if we look like aliens from the planet 'Aqua'. Those eyes!!...spooky.
And all the recent rain has brought a fresh crop of limes...perfect for making special summer beverages like a caprioska....
Caprioska recipe...
Fresh lime or two, quartered and slightly sqeezed
teaspoon of sugar, white or brown
couple of splashes of vodka
plenty of crushed ice
wave soda water over the glass.
mix and serve!
My heavily pregnant friend is coming over to whale herself in the pool later today, so I bought some non alcoholic sparkling back from South Australia. Agggghhh, life is gooooood!

That looks so nice. Where I live, we still have cold weather..

The first drink of choice (besides wine of course - but that's just a pantry staple, isn't it??) is Frangelico! Can't get enough of the stuff with ample ice and fresh lime juice & pulp.

I grew up with a very cold pool, now finally Mum and Dad purchased a pool cover and I can't really explain just how much of a difference it makes. Plus it keeps all those pesky leaves out.
As for vodka drinks - mmm, wish our little lime tree would produce some fruit instead of just leaves!

That picture really made me laugh out loud! Wasn't it HOT yesterday? Craziness....
Caprioskas are in my top 2 drinks :-)
The best drop invented I say. Hope you and your friend enjoyed the swimming and you the alcohol.
