amy butler to the rescue
a quick, last minute dash to the fabric store today. While away I've asked my mother-in-law to recover the kitchen chairs for us. That is 4 years of kid grot you see on the old one. Spilt milk, pasta sauce, sticky fingers.. I had to see what they were going to look like. I chose an Amy Butler design. let's see how long it will stay clean for!
And whilst there I bought some new thread...because I needed to restock.....
and also grabbed these fat quarters. This is from the urban chicks range, called swell. Haven't a bloody clue what I am going to do with it, but fell in love with it! Now I really need to stop procrastinating.

oh how fabulous and perfect is that colour....gorgeous and looks so great! wish I had someone to recover chairs for me

Hi there, just found your blog and must say it's very inspiring! I love your works on paper. Hope you don't mind but I've put a link to your blog from mine.

It's amazing what a little fabric will do...making things fresh again. Nice choice.

I actually work at the Quilters Store, so if you went in on Wednesday, there is a pretty good chance you could have walked past me.
I even spoke to the ladies on the front counter Wednesday arvo and they said they had sold a few fat quaters of Swell that morning. I have been eyeing off some particular fabrics in that range but haven't been allowed to buy it yet.

Love the new fabric for your chairs. You might want to try some scotchguard on the fabric to keep it nice. I did that with our new chairs 5 years ago and they are still looking good. (Mind you I don't have a good excuse to recover them with something new!)

Your chair fabric is lovely. They look like new chairs!
I love the new Swell collection. I don't need any fabric but I have gift certificates 'burning a hole' to be used. Maybe some "Swell" is just the thing to use one of them on.

I see the fabric you bought on a pinafore for Miss M and a matching softie.
Love the chair cushions. Very nice!

I love Swell. Blue and green is my favourite combo at the moment!

Out of curiousity, which fabric shop did you go to? (you live in Brisbane right or did I imagine that?)

what a loving and clever mother in law you have! It is usually me who spills & ruins things rather than my 4 year old!

I'm sure that fabric will come in very handy soon (I am always ready to defend the existence of beautiful fabric). The dots on red is my favourite. I need more cotton thread too, I need to find a good and cheap supplier somewhere...
