I want to spend time in the studio.
Learn some French and plan my trip.
And say thank you to lottielulu for swapping with me. She makes the cutest clothes and I love this smock for Miss M. It is reversible too!

i'll be cleaning. Not an overly exciting blog entry to write about. But these things have to be done. I've noticed that there is a shift in the sun. It enters my windows at different times now. It sits lower across the verandah and is a deeper golden colour. I like this light. Autumn must be on its way. It was a year ago now that we had some renovations done. I took a photo of the light this morning and then looked through some old photos to see how it looked before we had the work done.
I don't really feel comfortable blogging about this type and thing. The whole show and tell my house thing doesn't sit well with me, and yet here I am doing it. Why is that? I'm breaking down a barrier. Maybe it is the light entering the room that makes me feel happy to be here and wanting to share that feeling of warmth.
We went from yellow walls to white. We changed glass doors to windows as we could never really use them the way they were. Gutted a linen cupboard and made it into a TV/storage unit. Added a wide bifold so that the verandah is now like another room. And the kids love to play here all year long.
I still want to change and add. But for today I will just try to keep it toy free and appreciate being able to see the floorboards.
I remember as a child my first ballet concert. I think I was 4. We were divided into 2 groups. Half of the troupe performed the dance that involved the splits. The other (uhum) less skilled half performed a petit allégro. I was in the second half.
That was of course until a mean, bossy girl told made me to swap sides moments before the curtains went up!!!
My performance was mediocre and I remember crying so much afterwards because I was unable to perform the splits.
I bet that little girl has probably grown up to be a successful, hard core business woman, or a mean arse ballet teacher.
I think Miss M will grow up to be a monkey....
a little shop update for the first time in months. enjoy your day.
my son wanted to know if he could sell some cards like I do. "please mum". So after giving him the stock and letting his artistic talents go to town I was stuck with the real dilemma of explaining how he could sell it. Then there was the discussion of how much to sell it for.
"what about $9.00?" he said.
"that's a little much" I explained.
"well, what comes before 9? would that be a good number?"
So after explaining to him how it all works, we decided on 50 cents. I didn't talk about postage...that was just too much to deal with! Nor did I discuss the fees that Etsy receive for uploading etc etc.
So, introducing to my shop a masterpiece created by an extremely talented 5 year old (alright, alright I'm his mum, I'm allowed to say these things). The racing car is called mash crash and it has special glow in the dark powers..the car not the card.
I promise to give him the money if it sells. Oh God, I hope it sells. There is always an aunty or grandparent I could get to buy it I guess. TOO LATE....SOLD. THANK YOU! You should have seen the look on his face when I told him. I won't mention the fact that I have never sold anything on Etsy that quickly before.
