new shop

I have a new shop. I'm a little over Etsy and working with the $US dollar. There is more work involved when someone wants to pay for something in $AUD amongst a few other issues I have with the site. So you can find me now with bigcartel. I'll keep my Etsy shop going for awhile until I know for sure what my plans are.

first last

the first and the last. there is something special when your last baby starts her first day of school.
It all went really well for both her and me. We'll see what happens in 3 weeks!

stop designing and start making

yesterday a friend and I spent the day screen printing. We attended a workshop with Thea Samios.
For me it was a way of making myself think more seriously about printing some of my designs onto fabric.
 Do I really want to go down this path?
What I produced at the end of the day wasn't anything surprising, but I feel like now I have more confidence to start making a few items.
I'll have more physical time this year with the kids starting school so I hope to put some of my designs to use....well that's the plan.
I have 100's of sketches and doodles in my sketch books and on my computer that need to see the light of day.

One very excited boy who finally has a 'wobb-a-ly toof'.
One grumpy boy who has the new tooth cutting through.
One takeaway coffee to get me through the day. I only need one.
One new design that will become some new greeting cards soon.

mike's the book!

This is something that has been hush hush for quite awhile. Pip from Meet me at Mike's asked a few crafty Australians  (including me) if they would like to contribute to a book about crafty projects. The book will be available in late March, but you can pre order one here if you like. I can't wait to see it. Pip has a list of the contributors on her blog. Congrats Pip on all the hard work, I know it will be fantastic.

folky little friend

Miss M popped in to the studio this afternoon, because she was booooorrrrrreeddd! So I brought their table in and set her up to do some drawing with me. She wanted to draw a babushka doll too.

We are having a great time together whilst Mr A is playing with his lego. 

We dropped friends at the airport today after a long weekend of playing  and shopping together. I found some great bargains, including this skirt....very folky don't you think? It is a heavy weight linen, all stitched and in perfect condition....yes a second hand find! I was so happy as it is the perfect size and even more happy with the very low price!

exploring cacti

I picked up a copy of Home Beautiful this morning after my artwork was spied in a lovely nursery that is featured in a South Australian home. It is so rewarding to see my own work in someone else's house. On the back wall are two of my sewn shoes (this is one). Apart from that, I've been working on some new works from paper dolls, to birds and a new found theme I am exploring is cacti!

udessi

A little overdue but still relevant.....

Towards the end of last year I packed some limited edition prints for a new {and local to me} online shop called Udessi. Featuring a bunch of talented Australian Artists, it is well worth the visit.

KIm, who started Udessi also has a great little blog.
