Nature has to be the one major inspirations for my art. In particular the finer elements of nature. The details of microscopic life that map out the complexities of tangible treasures that I find all around me.
Just walking the dog up the street can often be rewarding as I approach the surrounding areas near me that have been left for wilderness. Today an eagle from high above, dropped a stick just near me. And as I stopped to ponder what it was doing with its day I noticed this plant below. As a whole it is a shabby, unruly Australian native of sorts. With a shape and fullness like my daughter's hair. But on closer inspection the stems are covered in the smallest yellow pom pom like buds. Tiny, yellow fingers saying hello to me. Each bud repeats itself to create a pattern.
Patterns that I see in other inspirational aspects of life.
New works are appearing to emerge and this is a new limited edition print called 'spinning mustard'. Printed onto the smoothest plaster surface and framed using recycled timbers. I've decided to only make 10 of these.
