getaway

Nothing nicer than a quick getaway to Melbourne around this time of year.

Just spent two days enjoying fabulous shops, food and friends. Walking the city and suburban streets, discovering new artists and designers and saying hello to familiar faces...so nice.

Whilst there I popped into 'a shop called MILTON' in Prahran to hand over some of my prints for sale. Thanks Amy. So if you haven't been there, or haven't been there for awhile, go and have a look. Really Melbourne people, we Brisbane-ites crave for more of these type of shops here. 

But no time to spend here just now, I have just two full days left this week to complete all my immediate jobs before school ends for the year.

Big Exclusive Prints

I've been working on some rather large prints for Little Paper Planes in the US. Kelly asked me if I would like to be apart of the Fall Collection. The collection includes 12 artists, each with 2 prints each.

My two prints are...

Top: Wishing Stones Blue.

A similar print to Wishing Stones. Except this one is 42" x 42" (about 107cm x 107cm). I think I want one. They are printed with a Six Color Inkjet printer on 46lb. Matte paper. There are only 50. US$225.

Bottom: Seed Pod Banksia. 

36" x 36" (about 91cm x 91cm). I think I want one. Printed with a Black and White Laser printer on 20lb. Matte paper. There are only 50. ONLY US$40. Considering the size, I think that is pretty good!

Summer has arrived.

I have turned on the air-conditioning for the very first time.

I was melting in the heat and falling into a non creative slumber.

All around me I'm noticing golden hues. They are so delightful.

 

canvas. quilt.

I finsihed another quilt. yay for me. Happy with this one. I used mostly scraps of cotton and Japanese kimono offcuts. Must replenish my Kimono stash!

Sometimes I think that my quilts are like my paintings....or is it the other way around?

good things.

things about time AND work AND goals AND balance.

things that will make me happier AND nicer to be with.

things that will no doubt make me feel slightly nervous AND insecure AND guilty.

But I'm not telling you what it is. Otherwise I might jinx it. No real life friends, I'm not telling you either. Not yet.

Here are some other things....

I have a new ink and acrylic illustration on paper available in the shops. Sweet Stones. I seem to be drawn to coral colours this season. Love them with black.
