just popping in very quickly to keep you up to date with new works I am creating.

Here is a little peek at new prints. they'll be in the shop next week but I'll have some available at the stall on Sunday 1st for the Mathilda's Markets.

school bell

so, busy weeks ahead of me. I have so much to do and the usual 'of so little time'... I'm hoping to finish my ABCme orders, print some new cards and finish new commissions.

I'm trying to get everything in order for the Mathilda's market which will be on the 1st of November in Brisbane 9-1pm and that certain day in December which I dare not mention just yet because it really is way too early.

It's a battle between me and the school bell.

In the meantime I have lots of orders so fill and finish. I'm so glad to be busy, it must be Spring!

watching the clock tick by

I said to Mr N last night whilst we were all eating dinner, "I am so looking forward to this week. I have so many great things I want to do, and I'm feeling really energetic about doing them. Infact I could easily work another 12 hours straight now" Of course when you are a mum, you can't. There are mum things to do.

The weekend, was great. Blue skies, long walks, 40th birthday celebrations, garden cleaning and Japanese food.

But....

This morning Mr A woke up with a headache. I drugged him up with panadol and shipped him off to school. Sat and did reading with his group, drove to the PO, went to the butcher, bought a yummy cake for morning tea with my friend, did a quick and minimal vacuum and kitchen clean, editioned some prints and then the phone rang.
Mr A was unwell and could I come and collect him from school.

The poor little boy took himself straight to bed, slept for an hour and a half, then woke up and was sick. Yep, the vomiting kind of sick.

So it seems that this blog isn't much fun at all of late. I really haven't been enthused to write about anything much at all. I did manage to start on some new prints and new bird illustrations, but mostly I find myself just watching the clock and waiting for the school bell to ring so I can be on mummy duty again.

Birds Bay

I have managed to finally have 4 hours to myself this week! YAY. The last two weeks seem like a blur. With sickness in the house, weekends away, family visiting, school athletic carnivals, and student free days I feel like I haven't been doing too much work at all.

I have managed to finally complete a commission for a lady in Greece. She contacted me sometime ago and asked if I would like to create some artworks for her holiday houses called Birds Bay. In the end I finished 6 pieces for her and these are three of them. Except i think they look really crappy here. i couldn't seem to get a decent photo of them.

I am so looking forward to next week so I can concentrate on some work. please no one in my house get sick.

It has taken me an embarrassingly long time to complete this canvas. Commissioned by a Brisbane lady, it will fly away to her home this week.

I've spent most of today and all of last night with a migraine. Only now at night do I feel OK. But I have felt frustrated at not being able to do anything. So before I shut down my computer I thought I would quickly post this pic I made.
The weather here is dreary and wet and this bird makes me feel a little brighter.

 

A minor bird

I am concentrating at the moment on a commission for a lady in Greece. This is one of several bird illustrations that will adorn a bed and breakfast over there.
And this poem to end the week. Everyday around 4.30pm we have a flock of minor birds screech there way into the trees at the back of the house. Kransky, our dog, hates them so much and I find myself yelling at him to be quiet and shooing the noisy critters away. They don't seem to care at all about us and continue their noisy, chatter for about 20 minutes before moving on. Every single day!

just thought I would update some new ABCme photos. It seems easier to do here than on my website. I have been forgetting to take photos before sending them away, and have just realised that I have no current images of new works to show. Plus it was about to time to freshen up the blog banner. Just like moving furniture around in the house, I like to keep things changing.

And the birds? Well aren't they just amazing? The colours of the Peacock and the Golden Pheasant are so incredible.....makes me want to paint them right now.
