It has taken me an embarrassingly long time to complete this canvas. Commissioned by a Brisbane lady, it will fly away to her home this week.

new canvas prints for kids

As mentioned last week, I was testing some prints. Well, today they are ready for sale in the shop. If you know 1 little or 2 little indians these might be perfect for their bedrooms. The prints are sold on canvas as the back shows here. I can ship the images unstretched for anyone outside of Australia to reduce the shipping costs.
The images are titled, Sitting Flower and Small Eagle Sitting.

Deep in the Jungle

Today I collected a new canvas print for my friend's boy. Yes I was commissioned by a 6 year old!!

"can I have turtles, a snake, bugs and I would really like a leopard, a monkey, an opossum and maybe a toucan?"
I also wanted to create a feeling of depth by hiding some of the animals behind trees and rock. Some animals take longer to find as they camouflage with the jungle surrounds.
 
I'll give it to him this afternoon, and hope that he and his parents like it. 
I'll be selling this print in my shop soon.

FEVER

what does the bottom image have to do with the top two images you ask?
Nothing.
I've been nursing a fever and sore throat for the last few days and when I am like this I start to see a pattern emerge in my work. I start doing things that are totally unrelated. I work in one colour scheme and within the hour I'm painting in another. But I seem to be more passionate about making things and I often feel like I could work in my studio for hours on end....and then maybe fall into a heap and collapse.
So with the help of some paracetamol, vitamins and some colustrum tablets (don't ask!) I'm fighting my way through this flu and having some fun painting and playing with colour.

 I love playing around with shape and tone and I have some ideas busting to get out of me..except it is 1.30pm. School pick up is just around the corner, I haven't cleaned the kitchen from this morning, I need to start designing some graphics for a customer, finish some illustrations for a very exciting job coming up and I have some bills to pay. And here I am blogging away like there is nothing to be done!!!!

BTW. The top right bird is a work in progress. A new canvas commission. This is just a wee little peek.

Recently the very talented Dawn from Dawbis asked if I would like to trade with her. I almost jumped out of my skin. Yesterday she received my parcel, so I thought I would leave this space for the weekend with an image of what I sent. Acrylic on Canvas. There is more detail on the bottom of the canvas.
