I've been really inspired by Matryoshka dolls. I had some when I was little and maybe one day I'll get around to buying some more..its just seeing the right ones at the right price. Here's my messy desk in poor lighting and next to it one of many crazy ideas I have right now that is causing me to be a very moody artist!
I've been trying to work on creating a site that is simply a collection of my most recent works. And after months of trying I have finally decided to open the doors so to speak. It still has many more works that could be placed in there, but for now there is some sort of structure to work with. I'll add a link on this site to it as well. (DONE) For now click here if you would like to preview tsktsk collection. My plan is to keep it simple and not to have as much talky talk...which hopefully means less time involved in maintaining it.
I designed some cards for a friend of mine who is about to have her second child. Thought that I would share them with the rest of you too. They are in the shop, except they are sold with white envelopes, not yellow..it was just too hard to get the yellow ones when I needed.
Although I have been busy I am trying to create a few more artworks and greeting cards for the shop. They'll be there soon.
I seemed to get over my yellow woes this weekend and had a chance to make some new cards. There are 6 in a pack and are in the shop now. More can be seen on flickr or at the shop. I have sewn the images onto the card. And I actually am surprised that I like these yellow birds, I could have kept on drawing all day!
And thank you to Stephanie for this lovely swap. I swapped one of my earlier yellow pieces I created in the year for some of her work. It was a lovely surprise, plus all the other goodies she popped in.
My car looks like a mini cyclone has been through it. I am so sick of the mess. Every time I go somewhere I look at the floors and the seats and there is always something on them. Thank goodness I don't take friends in my car very often. I tell myself each trip that I will clean it up. But when I come home all I want to do is get the kids inside and my arms are usually full anyway. Even if I did clean it up, keeping it clean is my problem. So like any 21st century mother I create/buy something to store the mess in...hence the car bag for the back of the front seats.
My kids love Beetle cars. Every time we see one on the road we yell out 'Spotto'. Did anyone else play that game as child? Items that will hopefully live in it are, hats, suncream, pencils, drawing pads, sunglasses, drink bottles, snacks and books. I'm not sure about the books however. I think I might have to redesign the next one because the pockets aren't big enough for the weight of the books. Regardless of the design, I'm sure I'll find the odd sock, teddy, leaf, sand, shell, plastic packaging, orange peel, apple core...........
Hubby has swapped cars with me, so I'll have to wait to test it out tomorrow.
tsktsk design and illustration site is mostly completed. I feel a little better for spending some time making the changes. I do all my own website management, and as the minutes tick by in this techinical world we live in my skills digress a little.
I'm out of a few days. Taking the family to Hastings Point for a spot of beach life. Plan on fishing, swimming, laughing and drinking an icy cold beer on a hot summer's day.
I'm still thinking in terms of red. I'm finding it challenging at times and a very draining colour, but on other hand it is also intense and refreshing. I have added these to my shop. Australian buyers can contact me directly if you would like to buy some.
The calendar pages have started to arrive. So far I have received pages from Marianne, Gracia and Louise, Paula, Julie, Risa, Shari and Tiffany. Thank you ladies they are truly wonderful. Still feeling wishy washy and under the weather, so I'll keep this brief. It is becoming warmer here and I seem to always feel flattened from the heat. Sending warm vibes to all those people with cold toes and noses.
