generosity

there are so many people in 'blogland' (that sounds a bit like noddy world) I would like to meet. Some out of simple curiosity. Others out of that certain feeling you get about someone. A likeness. Some I would like to have a good laugh with over a drink whilst others to talk about their passions and get more of an insight into their mind.

Since beginning this blog there is one person I have always been drawn to. Its like I can hear her voice through my computer screen when I read her comments or her posts.(don't worry I'm not obsessed)

Every time I visit her world I feel a need to return to mine at a much slower pace. To simplify myself. Have less and appreciate more of what is around me and at hand.

I bought this top the other day from her shop and I even when opening the parcel, I felt as if there was a whole lot more to just linen and thread. Well there were a few extra goodies, but just this top alone made my day. I'm hanging in my wardrobe with my best! thank you Paula.

And then, there are those people who appreciate what I have made. Reading this post gave me goosebumps and a boost of overdrive to keep on making. Especially when they create such goodness themselves. thank you Jennifer.

One Small Room

Recently I have been busy selling some works for a gorgeous retail shop in Adelaide.Look closely on the table for some of the images. One small room just looks wonderful. You might recognise some products from some other talented Aussies too.

I haven't been to Adelaide since I was a child and would love to visit there again. My husband is going next week....trying to twist his arm that the kids and I could go too..we wouldn't be in the way..honestly too much sightseeing and shopping to be done. However I don't think it will happen. I can't seem to organise a weekend away at the coast, let alone a trip interstate.

another one just like it please

Firstly, I just wanted so show a part of some presents I sent to this lady after her kind generosity earlier in the year. It is a paper weight just in case you were wondering. Secondly, we had a wonderful weekend. I explored my parents' garden. Lots of natives and amazingly tall trees. I took some time out on Saturday morning at the Eumundi markets....by myself. I hate shopping with other people, so it was heavenly roaming around and checking out all the stalls. I bought some goodies which I will show some other time. But best of all was the part where I sat on the 'green' grass and ate Balinese chicken kebabs followed by an entire plate of poffertjes drizzled with maple syrup. Infact I ate all weekend and feel rather overdone now. And no I haven't learnt how to knit over the weekend. This wonderful cardigan was made by my mum for Miss M...she doesn't think she is very good!

something old something new

I pulled this out of the downstairs cupboard this week and it seems that Kransky loves it! I popped it away from sharp claws after this photo. I made it about 10 years ago. Go on show me something you made 10 years a go...I'd love to see it.

10 years ago..am I really that old? I still think of myself being out at nightclubs 10 years ago and all that comes with it.....smoking, drinking, being hungover and sleeping. But here is proof that I have always been a .....a.......ummmm....mature!

And it is always nice to go to new places, or perhaps you have been before.....

its a Looooong weekend!

I've spent the a-hum 'public-holiday' trying to entertain Mr A and Miss M. We kidnapped dad from work and took him to the park to enjoy a gloriously sunny day. Sadly we returned him to the office a couple of hours later. And as I sit in my study trying to do some freelance work myself, I see two funny but bored faces sitting in here with me. It is just one of those days where everything I have offered has only been interesting for 5 minutes. Playdough, painting mermaid moulds, lego, riding bikes, games, videos, collage and books. The frustrations of having to stop and start work, bug me, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

And do you remember the Boggle Junior box I received from Carmen? Well it is on its way to Heather in South Africa. I save any kind of packaging to reuse. But as I was packing some items for Heather in this box, I thought, wouldn't it be great if it traveled around the world and ended back at Carmen's house.  So Heather, it is in your hands now to take care of the box and send it on to a fellow blogger with special instructions to re-use it for blog mail. These blank nesting dolls are the beginnings of things to come!

green square swap

Do you ever post and then lose all the information after typing it in! AGGGHHH. So now this is the shortened version of what I had typed as the arsenic hour has arrived and I have two hungry kids begging for dinner!

Carmen from sweet petite and I swaped some green/square goodies. I received them about a month a go but was waiting until the month of green to show you. Here are some photos. Thanks Carmen, I love all of them. I'm very nervous about giving the kids the beautiful placemats you made, but I promise not to show you any of the food stains. The goodies that I sent can be seen at my flickr page.

Edit: what's with the Boggle Junior you say? No, no game inside, just a nifty way to send her goodies.

its all in the timing

some thank yous are in order. I'll keep it short. Thanks Bowie for mentioning me on your print and pattern blog...for those of you who love design and are totally in the dark, open the window and go take a look. Eye candy galore. And thank you to you, yes YOU. The one reading this blog. Whether you comment or just look, I had my 1000th comment today. And not that comments are the reason I blog, but receiving them sure does make me smile, it keeps me motivated. This person who made the comment is actually somebody new to my site. Go on take a look. A little present is in the mail for you Heather...just email me your details if you would like. And I cannot forget firsts. So to you Fiona who commented first on my site. I was blown away that someone had read my blog. Please email me your details, as I would like to send you a small token of thanks also.

Now, now I thought about sending all of you something, but do you really think I have that much time to stamp that much mail and stand in line at the post office? Of course not, but I wish I could. So just pretend this came in your letterbox.

Thanks

WHIRL WIND

We have been having a lot of fun these last few days with our friends from interstate. Little friends have now gone and there is a much needed quietness in the air for the children. As much as we had fun, it is now time for some rest and normality and chocolate free days. Hopefully there will soon be some time for me to continue with some illustration ideas like this one. And how nice is it when 30 minutes after your visitors have left, this arrives on the doorstep?

Easter Treats

Meet Oscar and Ophelia. They arrived on my door step yesterday and I  L  O  V  E them. So do the kids. This amazing woman sent them to me. And I am very excited because she is a local lady and we are hoping to catch up very soon. Easter is upon us and we are expecting friends from Melbourne to arrive on Friday. So  I am in the process of cleaning the house. Of course this means adding a few new touches to certain corners, including these new cushion covers I have made for the spare room. Happy Easter everyone.

work and play

The second package to my swap partner Laura arrived safe and sound. I can't believe I didn't put this in the first package.

And one of the works for ABCme artworks I recently finished.
