happy weekend

I have so much to show and tell. New canvas paintings, softies paper illustrations and cards. But for now I'll just show the cards. I'll be restocking the shop in a week or two.Post1
I'm in my dressing gown, sipping a morning coffee, watching Miss M dance to playground radio, Mr A make a musical instrument our of shells and string and Mr N reading the paper online. We are also preparing ourselves to go to Ikea today. It always seems to turn out to be a bigger shop than I anticipate. Last time I went, I vowed never to go by myself again.

Apart from that, hopefully a quiet weekend here finishing my projects and catching up with friends.

Enjoy your weekend.

hi ho, hi ho...

This week, I've been at my dark little corner, working on some graphic design and branding for this company. It is a slow process, but  I'm making tracks and enjoying working with them. It is good when you get a client that you can relate to, and you love their stuff!

Apart from that I've finally put some new cards in my shop. I have two weeks to finish everything on my project/working list.

Right now I can hear the sounds of cars driving passed my house, birds, a whipper-snipper, and Mr A and his little friend making silly, funny noises in the play room whilst playing with lego. I should really go down and see if they want a blueberry muffin.

Listening in on their conversation has been most amusing. So I thought I would share a little..

Both friends attend different schools and have not seen each other since kindy last year...

A: "are you in love with Olivia?"

J: "No."

A : "Well, then who are you in love with at your school?" giggle giggle

J: "I'm in love with Georgia"

A: "Well, is that a boy or a girl"

J: " A girl  I think"

The conversation directly led onto Mr A saying,

"look that is where my dog threw up today" giggle giggle.

yep, more cards

I did these ages ago...months infact. I almost forgot all about them, until yesterday. Each card is a print of original collages comprised of old papers and  portions of a letter I kept from my Pa (other grandfather not the one below). Share a laugh. Share a treat. Share the joy. Share the magic.

They'll be in my Etsy shop ASAP. Now there is only one other card design I'll release for the holiday season this year. I'll keep you posted.

it has started

I've already had a few shops and people ask me if I am selling Christmas cards this year. I am, so I guess they might need them soon..like now! So I'm showing you a few of them. These will be available in the Etsy shop and I will be adding more soon.

dancing horses??

hi! well it has been a very jammed pack and hectic week. So glad to catch up with our friends, but I can't believe a week has gone. I've had a few spare moments to be continue my wips and complete a few illo jobs. I opened the windows of my study today to let the spring air in  and all these new ideas started flowing in! So I am in a crazy artistic mode again. I'm painting horses, matryoshkas and birds, updating my collection site, getting frustrated with Etsy, listening to my children get hysterical about ridiculous things, painting pet rocks and going to 5 year old birthday parties. Maybe it is the change of season that is sending me batty! These new cards are now available.

I'll leave the knitting up to you

Thanks to all of those who have entered the giveaway below and the lovely comments you have made. I wish I could make one for all of you.

Today, one of the many things I have been busy doing is designing some cards for a local craft shop. Trying to get some ideas out. I have come up with these, but I think I still need to do some more exploration. Have to say I'm having lots of fun working with a new theme. I can't knit, only crochet but one day I might try to learn. For now I'll just stick to making cards about knitting.
These and some others are now in the shop.  My shop too!

next dimension stage 2

I just wanted to say thank you to all those who commented on my dolls and emailed with some very very useful tips. I am at the next stage of development and really feel that I am getting the softie/plush whatever you want to call it, making process to a point where I am happy with my results. I now want to make these dolls stand up. The smallest one is, but the sewing was completed by hand and I need now to work on this part. Don't you love the fabric that I have used. It is a Kiku Japanese fabric, which has also made me start to to love kokeshi dolls. I'm now afraid I'm turning into one of those odd collectable types of people whose house will be filled with small dust collectors!

I have also created some new greeting cards that are in the shop, and because I am in the red and black mode at the moment I have almost completed the painting of some wooden dolls which will be also for sale. This will be a set of 5.

So, dinner is burning and I really must go.

tweet thanks

I designed some cards for a friend of mine who is about to have her second child. Thought that I would share them with the rest of you too. They are in the shop, except they are sold with white envelopes, not yellow..it was just too hard to get the yellow ones when I needed.

Thanks
