Well, these last few days have been the usual whirlwind. Lots of new in the house.
New this, new that...including a new computer that I've been trying to break in.It's like moving house. Transferring the good and dumping the bad.

i've become obsessed with crochet again. {more on these little hexagons later when I have the time} But days are slow here in this household so sitting and crocheting is about as much as I can manage.
So much for not starting a new project.
And now my obsession has edged its way into other genres.

I managed to spend the end of my week illustrating. My son has been at me for a long time to make some new art for his room. On Friday, he was a little unwell, so he spent the day on the couch at home with me. Together we brainstormed some ideas and he started sketching out robots and UFOs. By the end of the day, I had designed a poster for a UFO Identification Chart. Does that sound like an oxymoron?
So I still need to tweak the design if I want to print it out for anyone who might be interesting in buying it. But for now, I've worked on four of the UFOs we came up with and have created some 5 x 7" art cards. Now before you all going racing over (well I can only imagine that is what you would all be doing) to my shop to buy heaps of them. STOP.
I have decided that I will not be restocking my ETSY store. That's right. you heard me. I've just been a little bored with Etsy of late and selling in a foreign currency really frustrates me. I mean why haven't they allowed for different currencies? Every time the Australian dollar goes up or down, I'm having to change all my prices. And I just don't have the time to be rushing to my computer every couple of days.
So I am now selling in.......MADE IT. An Australian based online store. I've only just starting stocking in the shop, so there isn't much at this stage. MADE IT has been around for awhile. Yes, I will continue shipping to overseas customers. If the thought of buying something in Australian dollars scares you. I have three words. BUY A CALCULATOR. It really makes no difference when buying something, but selling in $US when you don't live in the US just really bugs me.
OK. There you go. I've had my spat. Hope I haven't scared you away. The UFO cards really are cute if you are trying to find a nice gift for a boy.
I've spent the last few days back at home cleaning and sorting my studio when I can. There is still about 1/2 a day to go, not to mention about a days worth of tax paper work...eeekk. But just changing my inspiration board has given me a new lease on life.
Whilst hanging out the washing the postman delivered a lovely package to my door this week. Something I've been waiting for.
Last year the lovely folk at Galison contacted me to illustrate some matryoshka dolls for their Spring 2010 range. (northern hemisphere) It is now available online and hopefully will be available in shops here in Australia very soon. To celebrate I'd like to offer you a note card set which includes 4 designs, 12 cards and envelopes in total, and one tin coaster set that inculdes 4 images. i have a love hate relationship with cats. You see I much prefer the company of dogs. I guess that is a nice way of saying I hate cats. Are you still there friends?
I just don't understand the cat species. But I do love cat sofites. I think it is their faces and eyes. And I just love the way the makers of animal softies and plush like toys dress them up in beautiful clothes. So to satisfy my obsession I have made a new limited edition print of two little kitties. Titled 'best friends', it is quite apt at the moment as I watch Miss M developing friendships. She seems to have a new best friend every week.

I've had a very productive week.Today my monsters come home and my house will be destroyed. And yet, I still need to clean it before they arrive.
I have to give back the kitchen table and I suspect that my parents and children will want a meal cooked for them tonight! And I'll have to hide the rest of the Turkish delight from their tiny paws.
I've been up since about 5am making lists and finishing jobs. I have a few odd jobs to complete for work, but I have a pile of bills and paperwork that need sorting. Vacume cleaner to be fixed, car to be cleaned before the booster seats go back in. OH that sounds like such an inspiring day to you all I bet. I might squeeze in a pedicure as sandal season is now approaching.
yes, a nice few days of peace and some work crossed off the list.
I am happy.
I bet my parents are exhausted.
