Sunny July days make it feel more like Spring here.
The tips of my fingers are cold, and my feet are snuggled in my ugg slippers, but seriously is it winter today??
A walk around my garden on the weekend has found some amazing treasures. Magnolia, camellia, azalea, pentas, xanthostemon, powder puffs.....
Even my latest painting is full of summer brightness. Summer Puddles. It's for sale! Acrylic on canvas, 1m x 1m.
I've also been busy this year working on a commission piece. It seems like ages ago that I received the email asking if I could create this painting.
This is residing in Sydney with a very happy recipient.

Today I delivered some works to local retail and crafting studio, Piece Together. Earlier this year I participated in one of the sewing workshops there. If you are a local, it is well worth checking out. If you aren't, then they also have a facebook page.
About 2 weeks ago, they moved from their upstairs studio, to a street front shop. Both Tammy and Jennine are still in the process of fitting out the shop, but there are still plenty of beautiful items in stock and many workshops on the go. And you can still get a great coffee and beautiful homeade treats from Five Sugars who share the space with them. Today I arrived just as some freshly baked goods arrived. The coconut, raspberry slice was heavenly.
Anyway..... My work is there for the next month. If you haven't wandered down this little strip in Woolloongabba, then do so this weekend. This Saturday floral stylist Kara of Lulu Lucky will be there with some beautiful blooms.

OK, so if I keep it short and sweet I might just find it achievable....so here it goes....
A quilt for a friend's 40th. Made using some old Kimono fabrics and scraps around the house. I backed it with a linen. It's for her lap.
